Indian Railways To Run Two Military Special Trains For Indian Army’s Operational Requirements

Indian Railways will run two military special trains from Bengaluru for Jammu and Guwahati on 17 and 18 April respectively to meet the operation requirements of Northern and Eastern borders of the country amid the lockdown. Since the passenger train operations is under suspension to fight COVID-19 pandemic, special permission has been granted to run these two trains for army movement. While Bengaluru-Belgaum-Secunderabad-Ambala-Jammu will leave on Friday (17 April) the Bengaluru-Belgaum - Secunderabad - Goplapur - Howrah - New Jalpaiguri will depart on Saturday (18 April). Both the trains will have 24 coaches each along with a pantry car and start the journey from Bengaluru at 10 AM. According to sources, more than 1,000 Armymen and officers are likely to travel from Bengaluru to their postings in various parts of the country.
